A tragic road accident unfolded today in Palajori, Deoghar, claiming the life of one individual and leaving four others injured. The incident occurred near Basaha village of Palojori police station area on the Sarath-Paljori main road, where a car lost control and collided with a tree, resulting in extensive damage to the vehicle. The deceased, identified as 59-year-old Gopesh Kumar Singh, was a resident of Shivpuri Colony in the Chas police station area of Bokaro district. Singh, who was working as a guard at the Central Bank of Sarath after retiring from the army, succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident.
According to reports, Singh was driving the car himself, which was part of a marriage procession from Sarath Purana Bazar to Sindriya village in the Ramgarh police station area of Dumka district. The collision occurred while the group was returning from the procession, leading to injuries to four other individuals, including Kundan Mandal, Sotam De, and Bablu Raut, who were residents of the Sarath police station area. The injured have been transported to Dumka for medical treatment, while the police have seized the damaged car for further investigation.
